Claude Code and Codex: see who’s working, who needs a reply, and what they said.

Also detected: OpenCode, Pi, Gemini CLI, Grok, Cursor Agent, Qwen Code, Goose, Aider, Amp, GitHub Copilot CLI, Kimi, Droid, Crush, and Auggie. These show as Running.

Lantern sends replies directly to sessions it starts, and to agents in tmux (a tool for managing terminal sessions). For other terminals, it copies your reply and opens the app for you to paste.

What does Lantern do?

It’s a small Mac app for people using AI coding tools. It finds your running agents, shows which ones need a reply, and helps you answer from one place.

How do I install it?

Download the Mac app, open the DMG, and drag Lantern into Applications. Then open Lantern. It works on Intel and Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later.

Do I need to change how I run my agents?

No. Keep using Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, cmux, VS Code, or tmux. Lantern finds supported agents automatically. You can also start a new agent from Lantern.

Can I reply from Lantern?

Yes. Replies go straight to agents started by Lantern or running in tmux. For other terminals, Lantern copies your reply and brings the app forward so you can paste it.

Does Lantern upload my code or chats?

No. Everything runs on your Mac. Voice typing also runs on your Mac where supported, and only listens when you turn the mic on.

Do I need October Desktop?

No. Lantern works on its own. October Desktop is a bigger workspace for working with teams of agents. Connecting the two is planned.

Is it free? Does it work on Windows?

This early preview has no payment or sign-in. Future pricing hasn’t been decided. Lantern is Mac-only for now.
